Prof. Dr. Ahmet Demir

I graduated from Istanbul University, Cerrahpaşa Faculty of Medicine (English) in 2000, where I started my medical education in 1993. I won the Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine, Department of Child Health and Diseases in the first TUS (Medical Specialization Exam) exam I took after graduation. I completed my specialization in Child Health and Diseases here in 2005. After completing my specialization in Pediatrics, I started my subspecialty in Hacettepe University Oncology Institute, Pediatric Oncology Department. I completed this residency in 2009. During my Pediatric Oncology speciality, I also completed my master's with a thesis in the field of pediatric oncology and earned the title of MSc. In November 2009, I worked as a Pediatric Hematology/Oncology specialist at Ankara Pediatric Hematology Oncology Training and Research Hospital. I gained the associate professorship exam on 19.12.2012 and got the title of associate professor in the field of Pediatric Health and Diseases. Since February 2014, I have been serving in the fields of Pediatrics, Pediatric Hematology Oncology, and Pediatric Bone Marrow Transplantation at Private Memorial Ankara Hospital. In February 2020, I was appointed as a Professor at Istanbul Gelişim University. In 2016, I established the Iceberg Child Development Center. It still continues its services. In 2019, I opened the Children's Kindergarten First. He continues his active education. Most of my life consists of the treatment of Pediatric Hematology Oncology patients. Oncological treatment processes are a team effort and a multidisciplinary approach is required. Hematology Oncology Centers must have Radiology, Nuclear Medicine, Pathology, Radiation Oncology, Genetics Laboratory, Biochemistry Laboratory, Flow Cytometry and Hormone Study Centers, and Psychological Support Units. The most important thing is that nurses and other personnel who love children, are experienced in the field, and are experienced in the use of ports and catheters, work in a synergistic way.
